![]() So far as noise reduction in the finished product, PRIME is amazing. Myself, I can't see that PL2 NIK has anything that my old FREE version doesn't have, nor that it does things any better. I also have built-in NIK however, it is more of an aggravation than an asset compared to just calling up my old FREE version from the Elements 7 menu. I'm a relative beginner and just want something simple to make my pictures (mostly family pics) look a little better than out of camera raw/jpeg with minimal effort. The quality of output compared with that of OpticsPro 9 is as dramatic as that I experienced when I first got OpticsPro 9.Īnother unexpected surprise I got with PhotoLab 2 is how much quicker it renders the exported image files.īeing a supposedly much more powerful program, I expected it to take longer to produce the exports yet, surprisingly, it does it in about 25% of the time.Īlthough I have them, I have never used Viewpoint nor Filmpack and would not miss them if they were gone. VSCO, Nik Collection, or DxO FilmPack I'm looking for a set of tools/filters/presets to speed up and improve my photo editing. So, I got DxO PhotoLab 2 Elite with all the never-used bells and whistles plus NIK. Then, I got a 7DMkII and it was not supported by OpticsPro 9. I have had DxO OpticsPro 9 Elite for several years and was very impressed with it's abilities compared to everything else I was using the quality of output was so dramatic that it convinced my stubborn wife to quit shooting jpegs and shoot only RAW. ![]() I have never tried DxO PureRaw, so cannot speak as to comparison to the DxO programs that I do have.
